What are you doing for Lent?
I was thankful to be back at the Church of the Messiah for Ash Wednesday services. Lent is a busy season for many folks. As spring arrives, we emerge from our winter slumber. We add to the busyness by Lenten practices and disciplines.
On Tuesday, I was listening to a webinar featuring the Rev. Dr. Sam Wells from St. Martin’s-in-the-fields in London. In reflecting on what practices people should do during Lent, Wells suggested the better question was “What one thing would God say I should change?”
If you are still sorting out your Lenten practice, I think Wells’ question might be helpful. You don’t have to add to the busyness, just look for the one thing you can change to improve your relationship with God.
